Now in its seventh year, the research, done in association with the Managing General Agents’ Association (MGAA), is based on feedback from more than 1,400 UKGI brokers gathered between July and September 2026.

The report, which will be released in November 2026, takes an unrivalled deep dive into broker satisfaction with MGA services, reviewing the quality of propositions and offerings provided by this market subsection.

This year’s report awarded performance-linked star ratings to 30 MGAs operating in the UK market.

Results

Of those assessed, six achieved the highest possible five-star rating based on broker feedback, down from 11 in the previous survey.

A further 16 MGAs were awarded four stars, while seven received a three-star rating. One MGA achieved a two-star rating and one MGA received a one-star rating.

One of the notable findings from this year’s research was a broad reduction in overall MGA scores. While individual company performance varied, many MGAs recorded lower scores than in 2025/26.

Broker feedback suggests that market conditions and evolving expectations around service, responsiveness and underwriting support contributed to a more demanding assessment environment.

The full Five-Star Rating Report: MGA Market 2026/27 will be available to Insurance Times subscribers in November 2026. In the meantime, readers can review the 2026/27 MGA star ratings table.
