’Throughout the planning and design process, colleagues told us what was important to them in a workplace,’ says chief customer officer

Tesco Insurance and Money Services has opened a new office in Glasgow city centre, bringing more than 300 employees together in a purpose-built workspace designed around colleague feedback.

The company has relocated to the recently refurbished Spectrum building on Waterloo Street, occupying 19,108 sq ft across two floors in the city centre.

The move consolidates employees into a single location and forms part of the firm’s wider investment in its people, customer service operations and working environment.

Tesco Insurance and Money Services said the office was developed following extensive consultation with colleagues, who were invited to share views on what they wanted from a modern workplace.

That feedback directly influenced the final design, including the creation of dedicated customer service areas, additional collaboration spaces and informal break-out facilities.

Alex Cross, chief customer officer at Tesco Insurance and Money Services, said: “We’re delighted to open the doors to our new Glasgow office and welcome colleagues into a space that’s been shaped by their feedback.

“Throughout the planning and design process, colleagues told us what was important to them in a workplace and those insights have helped create an environment that better supports the way they work and collaborate.

“The new office brings our Glasgow teams together in a modern workspace designed to support colleagues as they continue providing great service to our customers.”

Sustainability focus

The new headquarters is powered by 100% renewable energy, supporting the organisation’s broader sustainability ambitions.

The company said the location also places employees close to retail, hospitality and leisure facilities in the city centre.

The relocation has been completed in phases, with customer service teams moving into the building first ahead of a wider rollout across the business.

Martin Speirs, director at CBRE, which advised on the letting, said: “We’re pleased to have supported Tesco Insurance and Money Services in securing its new office at Spectrum. The refurbished workspace provides a modern environment that meets the needs of its colleagues and business operations.”
