’It’s a personalised experience for the customer and the insurer,’ says managing director

Uinsure has launched a new home insurance monitoring service in what it claims is a UK first.

The service allows a customer’s policy to be compared against live quotes from Uinsure’s panel of seven UK insurers several times a year, not just at renewal.

It alerts them when similar cover is available for less, or better cover for a similar cost, regardless of who the policy is currently with.

Quotes are matched to the customer’s current cover, including any add-ons or specified items, so it’s a like-for-like comparison rather than a generic quote.

Uinsure said that there is no obligation to switch. If a customer does want to switch, taking out a new policy can be done in around 60 seconds.

Martin Schultheiss, group managing director at Uinsure, told Insurance Times: ”It’s a personalised experience for the customer and the insurer.

”They are not guessing what the customer might be on, they know what the customer is on.

“It’s a multiyear service that will hopefully lead to disrupting how our customers purchase home insurance, move them away from a price comparison websites and move them back to the place that we believe they belong, which is our partners.”

Rollout

NatWest is the first partner to launch it, live in the NatWest app as NatWest Insurance Tracker, with further bank and building society partners set to roll it out over the coming year.

It’s distributed under each partner’s own branding, giving banks and building societies a reason to engage customers on insurance year-round rather than only at the point of a mortgage.

”Cover is matched on Defaqto rating as well as price, so any alert is genuinely comparable cover, not just a cheaper quote,” Uinsure said.
