The survey will investigate how AI and automation are being used throughout the claims journey
Insurance Times has launched its 2026 artificial intelligence (AI) claims survey to examine how AI is being adopted, used and governed across claims operations in UK insurance.

Now in its second year, the research will build on the findings of the inaugural study and provide a fresh industry benchmark of AI maturity, investment and deployment.
The survey, done in association with RDT, will investigate how AI and automation are being used throughout the claims journey, from first notification and data collection to triage, fraud detection, assessment, reserving, customer communications, settlement and payment.
It will also explore whether organisations can demonstrate measurable value from their investment, including improvements in efficiency, productivity, decision accuracy, claims costs and customer outcomes.
Importantly, the research goes beyond adoption. It will examine customer trust, transparency, privacy, accountability, human oversight and the safeguards organisations have introduced to manage AI-related risks.

Claims professionals are central to this research. We want to hear from claims handlers and leaders, operations and transformation teams, technology and data specialists, governance professionals and senior decision-makers across insurers, MGAs, TPAs, loss adjusters, brokers and claims technology providers.
You do not need to work for an organisation that is already using AI. Whether your business is deploying the technology, testing it, considering future investment or has no current plans, your experience can help create a more representative industry benchmark.
