’We’re expanding our financial institutions underwriting capability, bringing dedicated support and decision-making closer to brokers and clients,’ says head

Aviva has expanded its financial institutions underwriting capability with the launch of a new regional network of specialist underwriters.

The insurer said the new proposition will provide brokers with access to financial institutions underwriting expertise through Aviva’s regional offices, supplementing its existing London market presence.

According to the insurer, the expansion is designed to improve access to underwriting expertise, technical support and local decision-making for brokers and clients operating in the financial services sector.

Alison Caine, head of financial lines and cyber, UK regions at Aviva, said: “As demand for specialist expertise grows, we’re expanding our financial institutions underwriting capability, bringing dedicated support and decision-making closer to brokers and clients.

“Backed by one of the largest regional financial lines underwriting teams in the market, as well as our established distribution network and broker relationships, we’re able to provide faster decisions, stronger technical support and tailored solutions for FCA-regulated businesses.”

What is included

The proposition includes a range of products tailored to financial institutions, including directors’ and officers’ liability, fund directors’ and officers’ liability, investment management insurance, professional indemnity and crime cover.

The products are aimed at a range of organisations, including investment managers, investment funds, building societies, mutuals and friendly societies.

Caine said: “It’s the latest step in our investment in regional specialist underwriting and our ambition to grow our financial institutions proposition across the UK.”
