’With his breadth of experience across data and data architecture, he will be a real asset to the team as we enhance our capabilities and support better outcomes for our clients and people,’ says firm’s chief information officer

Specialist (re)insurance broker Miller has appointed Paul Lineham as its new head of data.

Lineham was most recently employed as insurer Beazley’s head of data architecture and brings more than 30 years of experience to the new role.

He has also previously worked in broking as head of data for platforms at Howden, as well as across the manufacturing and consulting sectors.

Miller’s statement said the appointee would work to “further enhance the technological solutions” it brings to clients, as well as “helping implement greater efficiencies and data-driven decision making to support the firm’s growth”.

The appointment follows a c-suite move from Miller back in August, when the broker appointed ex-Howden executive Paul Cumberland to the newly created position of chief broking officer.

In February, the broker also agreed to acquire reinsurance broker AHJ Holdings in what it claimed was its “most significant” deal since becoming independent in 2021.

Enhanced capabilities

Steve Jolley, group chief information officer at Miller, said: “I am delighted to welcome Lineham to Miller as we continue to strengthen our ability to deliver more insight-led, bespoke solutions for our clients.

“With his breadth of experience across data and data architecture, he will be a real asset to the team as we enhance our capabilities and support better outcomes for our clients and people.”

Lineham added: “I have always been passionate about aligning data strategies to business need and seeing data used to deliver tangible outcomes.

“Miller’s entrepreneurial culture and client-first approach made it an obvious fit and I greatly look forward to working with the full team to maximise value and deliver meaningful, innovative solutions.”
