’They’re both collaborative leaders who enjoy working alongside people, challenging constructively and helping others succeed,’ says chief executive

JMG Group has appointed Phil O’Toole as chief financial officer and Lisa Tucker as general counsel.

Both appointments are based at the broker’s London office and bring experience in supporting private equity-backed businesses through periods of growth, acquisition activity and operational development.

O’Toole joins after 17 years with international data and intelligence business With Intelligence, where he served as chief financial officer. During his tenure, he helped guide the business through sustained organic growth, multiple acquisitions and several private equity investment cycles, culminating in its sale to S&P Global in 2025.

At JMG Group, he will take responsibility for leading the group’s finance function as it continues to expand across the UK insurance market.

O’Toole said: “One of the things that attracted me to JMG Group was that it already does so many things the right way. This isn’t about coming in to make extensive changes.

”I enjoy working collaboratively, supporting people, providing constructive challenge and creating opportunities for others to succeed.”

Lisa Tucker

Meanwhile, Tucker joins as general counsel, becoming the first lawyer to hold an in-house legal leadership position within JMG Group.

A qualified corporate and commercial solicitor who trained at Addleshaw Goddard, she has spent much of her career working with high-growth businesses, advising on acquisitions, governance and commercial matters.

At JMG Group, she will oversee the legal function, supporting future acquisitions and legal risk management as the broker continues to grow.

Tucker said: “Working in-house allows me to become part of the fabric of the business rather than advising from the outside. JMG Group has built an outstanding reputation through the quality of its people and through acquisitions.

”Everyone I’ve met has shown deep expertise and a genuine commitment to doing right by clients and colleagues and I’m looking forward to being part of that.”

’Collaborative leaders’

Nick Houghton, chief executive at JMG Group, said ”they’re both collaborative leaders who enjoy working alongside people, challenging constructively and helping others succeed”.

He added: “As we continue to grow, our focus stays on bringing brilliant people into the business who have exceptional experience and who also share our culture and values. It’s that combination that makes JMG Group a business that people want to be part of, whether they’re joining us, selling to us, or choosing to work alongside us.

”Our people are what differentiates JMG Group and these appointments further strengthen our outstanding leadership team as we stride ahead.”
