’We are passionate about growing our own talent and giving people the opportunity to build their careers the Brown and Brown way,’ says regional managing director
Brown and Brown UK has launched a new retail graduate programme as part of its ongoing investment in talent development and regional broking operations.

The broker has recruited 16 graduates following a three-stage selection process, culminating in an assessment centre, with successful candidates joining offices across seven regions of the UK.
The graduates will undertake a three-year rotational programme, gaining experience across key areas of the business including account handling, broking, claims, sales and placement. Alongside their practical training, each participant will complete a graduate apprenticeship with the aim of achieving ACII status by the end of the programme.
Brown and Brown said the initiative has been designed around its decentralised sales and service model, allowing graduates to develop their careers within regional businesses while working directly with clients, insurers and colleagues in local markets.
Richard Jennings, regional managing director at Brown and Brown UK, said: “Our regional businesses contain an enormous amount of experience and expertise, but, importantly, they are also where the day-to-day work of broking happens. We want our graduates to be immersed in that environment from the beginning, working alongside teammates, learning from them and gaining practical experience across the full breadth of the profession.
“We are passionate about growing our own talent and giving people the opportunity to build their careers the Brown and Brown way. By combining professional qualifications with three years of practical experience across account handling, broking, claims, sales and placement, we want to give each graduate an exceptionally strong foundation for their career.”
Wider commitment
The programme also forms part of Brown and Brown’s wider commitment to investing in its regional broking operational model and ensuring broking expertise continues to be developed locally.

The 16 graduates will begin their placements across Yorkshire, the north west, the south west, Leicester, Belfast and the south east this month.
Jennings added: “Regional broking is fundamentally about relationships, local knowledge, and having experienced people who understand the businesses and communities they serve. Developing the next generation of knowledge and capability is therefore hugely important to us.
“We have ambitious plans for the future and we want these graduates to grow with us, bring fresh perspectives and play a meaningful role in helping us achieve our goals.”
