’It has been an enormous privilege to serve as chief executive at the LMA,’ says Cameron

Sheila Cameron will step down as chief executive at the Lloyd’s Market Association (LMA) in early 2027 after more than seven years leading the organisation.

Cameron, who has held the role since 2019, will remain in position during the transition period before taking on a new advisory role in the London market.

The LMA has started the process of appointing her successor.

Cameron said: “It has been an enormous privilege to serve as chief executive at the LMA and to represent the interests of managing agents during a period of significant change for the market. I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved together and of the role the Association continues to play in supporting a vibrant, innovative and successful Lloyd’s market.

“The LMA is in a strong position for the future with a talented leadership team, and I look forward to seeing the organisation continue to evolve and thrive under a new chief executive.”

‘Been a privilege’

During Cameron’s tenure, the association expanded its role representing the Lloyd’s managing agency community, while increasing its focus on digitalisation, market culture and developing insurance talent.

She also chaired the London Market Group’s Data Council and oversaw the expansion of the LMA Academy.

Sean McGovern, chair at the LMA, said: “Cameron has been an outstanding champion for the association and the wider Lloyd’s market. Through her vision, energy and leadership, she has strengthened the LMA’s position as the voice of the managing agency community, significantly expanding its influence, capabilities and impact.

“It has been a privilege to work alongside Sheila throughout her time as CEO. Her leadership has transformed the profile and impact of the LMA, ensuring it remains a highly effective and respected voice for the underwriting community.”
