’The insurance industry has a vital role to play in shaping how we respond to increasing flood risk,’ says chair
Admiral has become the latest official supporter of the International Property Flood Resilience Association (IPFRA), as the organisation seeks to expand industry backing for property flood resilience (PFR) measures.

The insurer joins a growing group of supporters that includes Flood Re, Aviva and the ABI.
IPFRA said Admiral’s support highlights increasing recognition across the insurance sector of the role PFR can play in helping households prepare for and recover from flooding.
Graham Brogden MBE, chair at IPFRA, said: “We are delighted to welcome Admiral as an official supporter of IPFRA.
”The insurance industry has a vital role to play in shaping how we respond to increasing flood risk and Admiral’s support reflects a clear commitment to working collaboratively across the sector.”
Greater awareness
The association represents organisations involved in the PFR market and works to promote standards, best practice and the wider adoption of resilience measures designed to reduce the impact of flood damage.

Admiral said supporting flood resilience initiatives aligns with efforts to help customers better manage future flood risks.
David Fowkes, head of household underwriting at Admiral, said: “As an insurer, we see first-hand the impact that flooding can have on households. Supporting initiatives that help towards improving preparedness, resilience and recovery is an important step in helping customers better manage future risk.
”We look forward to working alongside IPFRA to help drive greater awareness of property flood resilience and its role in supporting faster recovery and building longer-term resilience to flooding.”
