More than 750 broker respondents provided feedback on their eTrading experiences via software houses and insurer extranets
Three insurer extranets and three insurers eTrading via software houses have received a coveted five star accolade from broker partners, according to Insurance Times’ Five Star Rating Report: eTrading 2026.
The annual report, now marking its 12th edition, explores and investigates brokers’ opinions, attitudes and satisfaction levels regarding the eTrading services they receive from insurer partners and software house providers.
This year’s report is based on a survey of more than 750 brokers from Insurance Times’ readership, conducted between January and March 2026.
Within this poll, respondents rated the insurer extranets and software houses they have regularly placed business with during the past 12 months, as well as ranked insurer partners eTrading via platforms.
Insurer extranets
This year, brokers eTrading via insurer extranets have given Aviva Fast Trade, Zurich Online and Allianz QuoteSME an overall five star rating. Five insurer extranets achieved an overall four star rating, two insurer extranets achieved a three star rating and one extranet achieved an overall two star rating.
Software houses
Within the 2026 eTrading survey, broker respondents additionally rated the broker management system used at their firms.
The software houses included in the final report are Acturis, Bravo Digital Trader and Open GI.
Acturis secured first place among these platforms for the 10th consecutive year.
Insurer via software house platforms
Additionally, the Five Star Rating Report: eTrading 2026 investigated broker journeys when trading with an insurer via a software house platform.
This specific analysis found that Zurich, Aviva and Intact were the standout performers, with all three insurers being awarded five stars by surveyed brokers. Five insurers were awarded an overall four star rating whilst two insurers achieved an overall three star rating.
