Source Insurance has appointed Simon Thomas as managing director as the business looks to build on its growth and explore new market opportunities.

Thomas brings more than 30 years of experience across underwriting, broking and senior insurance leadership to the role.

He has previously worked at Source and will continue in his existing position as managing director of protect commercial alongside his new responsibilities.

Working with the Source board, Thomas will focus on developing new opportunities and strengthening relationships across the insurance market.

His remit will include expanding the firm’s network of provider partners, enhancing its home and landlord proposition and exploring opportunities in new markets.

He said: ”We have a strong understanding of advisers and the challenges they face and that insight will remain central to how we evolve the business.

“Our strategy is focused on building the right partnerships and developing the right panels around those needs, bringing together the breadth, quality and depth of products and solutions that enable advisers to place more business and deliver the right outcomes for their clients.”

’Invaluable’ experience

Founded more than 30 years ago, Source Insurance is an intermediary providing home and landlord insurance products to advisers and their clients across the UK.

The appointment comes as Source looks to strengthen its leadership team and build on its existing foundations through further product and partnership development.

The firm said Thomas’ experience across underwriting and broking would also bring an understanding of the needs of both advisers and their customers.

Louise Watkins, director of operations and marketing, said: “We’re excited to welcome Thomas to the team.

”We know that his market experience is going to be invaluable in steering us to achieve our growth objectives and pushing in to 2027 with real energy.”
