‘We are providing customers with a simple way to lower their excess at a time when cost is a real focus,’ says head of SME optimisation
Aviva has introduced excess reductions of up to £200 for minifleet customers using its Fast Trade platform, in a move designed to encourage earlier claims notification and greater use of its approved repair network.

Available to new and renewing policyholders, the enhancement offers a £100 excess reduction when incidents involving another vehicle are reported by the end of the following calendar day.
A further £100 reduction is available for customers who use one of Aviva’s approved repairers, including its wholly owned Solus repair network.
The insurer said the changes aim to improve claims outcomes while reducing the time commercial vehicles spend off the road.
The launch follows findings from Aviva’s latest Broker Barometer, which found that 46% of brokers want insurers to deliver faster claims settlement.
The data was collected between 23 January 2026 and 5 February 2026 by Censuswide, among a sample of 250 general insurance brokers.
Head of SME optimisation Chris Whiting said the latest enhancement was intended to improve both the customer and broker experience.
“We share our brokers’ ambition to consistently deliver a faster and more efficient claims experience for our mutual customers,” he said.
Claims improvements
According to Aviva, providing incident details promptly, including photographs and witness information where available, can help speed up liability decisions and improve the claims process.

The insurer also said repairs carried out through Solus are completed, on average, up to 50% faster than the market average for commercial vehicles, with average savings of £1,100 per claim.
Whiting said: “We are providing customers with a simple way to lower their excess at a time when cost is a real focus, whilst also helping vehicles get back on the road and customers back to business significantly quicker.”
He also described Aviva’s wholly owned repair network as a key differentiator, saying it enabled the insurer to provide faster repairs, greater control over the claims journey and improved outcomes for customers.
The enhancement follows a recent expansion of Aviva’s Fast Trade minifleet proposition, which now allows brokers to place up to 20 vehicles at new business and up to 30 at renewal or mid-term adjustment.
