’His background will be incredibly valuable as we build on our strong foundations and accelerate the group’s next phase of growth,’ says chief executive
BMS Group has appointed Paul Sheriff as group chief financial officer and executive director as the independent broker prepares for its next phase of growth.

Sheriff, who will be based in London, joins the business in November and will report to group chief executive Nick Cook. He succeeds Charlie Rozes, who is leaving the broker following a succession planning process.
Sheriff arrives from consumer finance business NewDay, where he served as chief financial officer and chief operating officer.
His career also includes senior leadership positions at Legatum, Record plc and Arbuthnot Banking Group, alongside finance roles at Prudential. He trained as an accountant with Arthur Andersen.
BMS said Sheriff’s experience in financial services, private equity-backed businesses and corporate growth would support the broker’s continued expansion strategy.
Growth focus
Cook said: “Sheriff brings over 30 years of experience in the financial services sector, alongside a wealth of private equity expertise.

“His background will be incredibly valuable as we build on our strong foundations and accelerate the group’s next phase of growth.”
He also paid tribute to Rozes, saying he had helped strengthen cost management, working capital efficiency and financial reporting across the business.
“Drawing on his extensive public company and board experience, Rozes has helped BMS make significant advances across these areas,” Cook said.
”The foundations established during his tenure have supported the strong growth in revenue, margins and ebitda that BMS is delivering in 2026 and expects to continue into 2027.”
Rozes will remain a significant shareholder in BMS following his departure.

His career began in 2019, when he joined a local north London newspaper after graduating from the University of Sheffield with a first-class honours degree in journalism.
He took up the position of deputy news editor at Insurance Times in March 2023, before being promoted to his current role in May 2024.View full Profile
